Amplitude Analytics has proven to be an invaluable tool for a variety of user needs across different industries. Users have utilized Amplitude to increase the retention rate of their most valuable experiments, allowing them to measure outcomes and drive product roadmaps effectively. The platform's ability to track users' funnel and the state of the user inside an app has been highly beneficial, enabling users to assign specific callers based on user attributes. The filter feature in the Amplitude dashboard has been widely appreciated, giving users the ability to easily view data for specific user attributes such as location.

Amplitude Analytics has become the go-to solution for many teams, including sales, customer success, product, engineering, and conversion. Teams have relied on it for free-trial and customer analytics, benefiting from its robust features that monitor digital product health, analyze customer behavior, and create performance dashboards. Additionally, Amplitude has been utilized as a third-party tool for creating funnels, visualizing data, and personalizing products by understanding user behavior and resolving bugs. Its comprehensive analysis capabilities have empowered users to make data-driven decisions that drive product growth.

In addition to its use in SaaS products, Amplitude Analytics has found traction in other areas as well. Users have leveraged the platform for A/B testing, appreciating its user-friendly interface that allows for analytics without coding skills. Furthermore, Amplitude's ability to track cross-platform user journeys and analyze user retention and interaction sets it apart from other tools that focus solely on page views and click rates. Users across various domains have relied on Amplitude Analytics for website and product analytics, measuring usage, engagement, KPIs, monitoring feature launches and experiments, and understanding user cohorts.

Amplitude Analytics has also proven its value in the media industry. From big companies to small to medium enterprises, this tool is considered one of the best analytics solutions available. It offers significant benefits by providing deep insights into audience definition and analysis of user paths for conversions and leads. Its event-based analytics approach addresses the limitations of early commercial web analytics, allowing users to go beyond clicks, traffic sources, and basic conversion rates.

Users appreciate the seamless tracking of the user journey offered by Amplitude Analytics, allowing them to connect product and app activity with web metrics. The reporting speed and ease-of-use have also garnered praise, with users finding value in how easily data can be displayed through charts. This tool enables them to identify active customers, popular product modules, and network bottlenecks efficiently. It has become an essential

Well-designed Dashboard: Users have praised the well-designed and visually appealing dashboard of Amplitude Analytics. It is evident that multiple reviewers have found the interface to be user-friendly, with intuitive navigation and customizable charts.

Comprehensive Feature Analytics: Several users have mentioned that the feature analytics provided by Amplitude Analytics are comprehensive and valuable for analyzing product usage. Reviewers appreciate being able to measure frequency of usage, track user behaviors, and identify areas for improvement through insights into actions that drive certain user behaviors in funnels.

Versatile Functionality: Many reviewers have highlighted the wide range of functionality offered by Amplitude Analytics, making it a versatile tool for analyzing both products and user journeys. The ability to filter charts based on specific date ranges allows for focused analysis, while multi-user and multi-dashboard view options facilitate collaboration across teams.

Less Intuitive Interface: Users have mentioned that the software is less intuitive compared to its competitors and has a steep learning curve, requiring significant training efforts. Several reviewers felt that the interface could be more user-friendly and suggested having a step-by-step guide for new users.

Limited Customization Options and Flexibility: Some users expressed a need for more flexibility in adapting to changing data structures and customization options for dashboards. They desired greater control over customizing their dashboards according to their specific needs, which they found lacking in the software.

Suboptimal Visualization of User Path Finders: The visualization of the User Path Finders feature has been criticized by users who believe it could be improved to provide a clearer understanding of the paths taken by users. Some reviewers felt that the current visualization does not effectively present the user journey, leading to difficulty in analyzing user behavior patterns.

Users commonly recommend the following about Amplitude:

  • It is important to start using Amplitude as soon as possible because it collects its own data and starting earlier is crucial. (Multiple reviewers)
  • Using Amplitude in conjunction with Segment is recommended, as it is seen as a powerful combination that users would not want to go back from using traditional reports. (Multiple reviewers)
  • Amplitude is suggested for those who want a deeper understanding of user behavior, although there are other tools like Google Analytics that are less costly if only a broad picture is needed. (Multiple reviewers)

We use Amplitude Analytics to: Increase the Retention rate of our most valuable Experiment with Features and Measure Outcomes to drive Product Roadmaps Personalize Product Experiences based on Behavioral Data
  • Providing insights into Customer Behavior and Product Usage
  • Integration with Business Applications
  • Customer Segmentation
  • Need to provide more depth in capabilities for dashboard customization
  • Not as intuitive as some other competitors and requires training effort
  • Needs more flexibility to adapt to changing data structures
Amplitude Analytics is well suited for scenarios where you have multiple data points to understand customer behavior and journeys and utilize simple to medium complexity graphs/charts. It may not be suitable for scenarios where you need to slice and dice data into highly customizable dashboards as that requires significant effort from technical teams.

One of our client works in "media campaigning" area. We wanted to do user segmentation and retention analysis for their media owners and users, that's where we used Amplitude Analytics tool in the projects.
  • Extraction of insights from data is really good
  • Visualisation dashboards are really good
  • User friendly tool
  • It’s really difficult to move data in and out of Amplitude
  • Sometimes amplitude can be overwhelming as it is packed with features, potentially can confuse non-analysts
  • Strong tool for Real-time user analytics
  • Very good for tasks such as Event segmentation, user segmentation and retention analysis etc.

We use Amplitude to track users' funnel. We have a different level of telecallers, based on the state of the user (inside our app like only signed up, or moved 1 level forward) lead is assigned to a specific caller. So for tracking the state of the user we use Amplitude.
  • Very well dashboard, clearly show states for specific date range.
  • It even gives you details on how many user's uninstalled the app, which no other competitor provides.
  • Multi users, multi dashboard view available.
  • Customizing dashboard is one time pain, it really took long time for us.
  • Integration is also one time pain; took ~2 weeks.
  • Moblie app view for dashboards are not good.
If your leads to the sales funnel are a multi-step process and require different levels of expertise to convert, then Amplitude can help you in tracking user's state. Also, it helps in giving a deep view of all business metrics.

Amplitude helps us find hidden user patterns in terms of pain points or success. That way, it enables us to iterate and improve our product all the time, based on data. I like that Amplitude is building new features all the time when I need them. Their filter feature in the dashboard is one of the most important. When you're looking at a specific dashboard, you might want to see all that data for a particular user attribute (let's say only for users based in Brazil). We used to need to create different dashboards for different markets we operate in, now it's just one click away.
  • Drop-offed users' behaviors, their journey.
  • Overall property/date/... etc. filtering for all of the charts in a dashboard.
  • Could be great to have more third-party integrations, like with Insider, since we use it as a user activation tool. It'd be so easy to observe the drop-offs from our Amplitude user funnel dashboards and then set up some communications/push notifications, etc., according to that data.
It helps us to find the pain points of a user based on data. If we are working on a new solution to solve this problem, Amplitude helps us to find answers and hypotheses.

My company has created a brand called "Fuzzle" around fictional furry alien creatures who came to Earth with unclear intentions. We built a companion mobile app to our NFT collection that allows our community to converse with their unique characters using conversational AI powered by OpenAI's GPT-3. We integrated Amplitude with our mobile app in order to understand how our users are interacting with the app so that we can better understand how to improve it as well as resolve any bugs that arise during development.
  • Mobile analytics
  • User funnels
  • UX analysis
  • Data visualization
  • Faster integration
  • Better data visualization
  • Make dashboard easier to navigate
If you are using a mobile app, Amplitude is awesome and I would highly recommend it as the best analytics tool. I use it to gain deeper insights into user behavior in our app, understand points of friction, and to identify possible bugs within our experience. I also create dashboards that make it easy for me to see on any given day how the metrics that we care most about are tracking.

Amplitude’s approach to event-based analytics and data originated from the struggles of the early commercial web, where marketing analytics mostly measured clicks, identified traffic sources, and tracked a few conversion rates.
Tying Product and App Activity with Web Metrics, Seamless Tracking of the User Journey, Reporting Speed, and Ease of Use.
  • Reporting Speed and Ease of Use
  • Seamless Tracking of the User Journey
  • A Completed User Journey
  • Integrations - does not integrate natively with key A/B testing tools like VWO.
Great for larger enterprises with a bigger budget Segmentation options are great - complete the entire user journey Dashboard is intuitive and user-friendly.

Not suited for smaller startups

We use Amplitude as the channel to take profit from the amount of data that is collected from the customer usage of products, displaying data in form of charts in order to identify the number of active customers, what product modules are used more or have more issues, bottlenecks in the network, etc.
  • Easy way to create charts
  • Simple way to configure the Database based on the own data
  • Provides the correct data to enhance/correct products and services
  • Visualizations could be better
  • Although updates and changes are good, it is sometimes difficult to adapt to the changes
It is well suited when having very large databases that simpler services cannot handle (or that makes it much more complex to handle) as setting everything up requires some investment, but once everything is ready generating new visualizations and taking profit from the data is super easy and fast making it possible to take quick benefit from data.

Amplitude Analytics provides me with valuable insights into system performance and customer activities inside of our Platform; I use it to better understand customer health and breadth of use, to ensure they are using the most up to date software version of both our application and their device operating system, what device manufacturers are used, and application responsiveness to help head off any issues.
  • Very easy to share analytics with multiple team members
  • Easy to customize analytics without coding knowledge
  • Easy to standardize a set of dashboards across an organization
  • It might be me, but I cannot distinguish between some things like upload/download speed when it comes to syncronization
  • It is occasionally possible to save over something when trying to instead save as a new chart -- and the interface between pages and dashboards can be a little confusing -- so I think the UI is straightforward, but not the most clear to a new creator
Amplitude has been most useful for us to easily track customer implementation health and application/device performance. It can allow exposing where issues can arise down to an individual team or user, so granular tracking and outlier identification (bucketing) is super helpful. It's also great for quick standardization. All this can be done without from a single platform instead of having to pull the data by going into every instance individually, so it is a big time saver, and allows for information to flow up to the executive level quickly, providing quick summaries of important stats.

It is a digital optimization solution that keeps smart and effective features for understanding and personalizing the products. It is very easy to customize and I can also save the data for future needs. I am capable of extracting the data into reports which offer me amazing ideas about future measurements. The variety of charts has helped me to analyze the variety of the data as well.
  • It provides me great answers about my critical questionnaire, by which I can easily explore behavioral data across any chart, persona, and cohort that are simple and intuitive to understand as they have made easy segmentation.
  • It offers its services for SQL queries due to which I have reduced the workload and save the time that was spent in finding out the technical aspects.
  • It is user-friendly and easy to use.
  • Amplitude Analytics is the most advanced developed platform. Since I am using its services I do not have to face any difficulty with its features and programming.
  • I really appreciate its customer support which plays a significant role in providing professional services, they are good at resolving every single issue in seconds.
With the help of this tool, it has become very easy to understand user behavior. It provides the most effective services and proves it's being efficient. For us, it has been no less than a blessing. I would also like to recommend it to those who are looking for an effective analytic tool.

We use Amplitude Analytics across the product development organization for all manner of product analytics needs--from measuring usage and engagement to tracking KPIs to monitoring the launch of new features and experiments, to deeper cohort and other growth & engagement analyses.
  • Intuitive UI
  • Easy implementation with a CDP like Segment
  • Powerful dimensions and visualizations for analyses
  • Learning curve for more powerful features
  • No built-in A/B testing
  • Large gap between free and paid plans; a cheaper introductory plan would be great
Well suited for directional product analytics and event/usage-based KPI tracking.
Not reliable as source of truth for financial planning and analysis.

Amplitude Analytics is being used for multiple different purposes in our organization for our digital product. The digital team uses the tool for monitoring the health of digital products and analysis of customer issues. Marketing uses the tool for checking customer behavior and how marketing campaigns work in production. The product team uses the tool to create dashboards about the site and mobile apps' performance.
  • Big knowledge-base about the tool, great support from Amplitude team
  • Variety of different options to analyse product and user journey
  • Loading time for dashboards with larger number of different graphs could be improved
  • More data breakdown metrics could be implemented
Amplitude Analytics is a great tool for site/mobile app monitoring. It is easy to check API health, receipt trend, conversion rates from one step to another. Also, it is a great help in trying to figure out the patterns when something is not working. You can build a dashboard and find out where customers are dropping and what is the exact issue.

Amplitude is used heavily by both our product teams and our marketing teams at HubSpot but the rest of the business uses it as well. We use it to provide product-specific metrics for things such as sign-up to product usage. It is a great tool for understanding how different cohorts of users are interacting with your products and what certain factors influence those product metrics like usage and retention.
  • Charts - I love the charting elements from Amplitude because they are simple and intuitive.
  • Ease of use - It has the ability to run complex SQL queries but more importantly the average marketer can use it and get the information they need without needing to have any technical work done.
  • Cohorts - These make segmenting data easy and this is key in the analysis.
  • Cohorts - While they are great, importing cohorts for us has been a pain because we need to convert to AmplitudeID's a lot of the time.
  • Knowing your event schema is critical to getting the most out of Amplitude. While not necessarily Amplitude's fault it can be a big hinderance.
  • They have dashboards but the dashboard functionality is limited.
Amplitude is great for doing individual-based metrics and analytics. It is great for determining where the majority of your sign-ups for a product are coming from or figuring out where the dropoff would be for users going through a certification. We don't use it for our business metrics like MRR or Customer Dollar Retention because it doesn't do as good a job of connecting group/portal/company data.

Our organization is using it as a go to tool for all Customer Analytics requirement. it is quite helpful to identify drops, missed opportunity and looking at customer journey.
  • Event segmentation
  • Funnel Analysis
  • Insight- Alerts
  • Customer Journey
  • Alerts is a very good feature and has a room for improvement.
  • Copy entire dashboard and doing bulk changes irrespective of editing individual chart.
  • Performance.
Amplitude is very intuitive and easy to use. The learning curve is very minimal or basic.

We use Amplitude primary for the funnel analytics, funnel optimization, and to find out the activity of a particular user.
In contrast to Google Analytics, Amplitude allows passing private user data so it can be matched with our inner systems. Amplitude's funnels are more advanced.
  • Tracking particular users by matching their personal data.
  • Building funnels.
  • Ability to see events in real-time.
  • It would be nice to have standard dashboards without a need to set it up from scratch.
  • It would be nice to have some additional tools to analyze the profitability of traffic channels in a particular funnel without creating additional charts for that purpose.
  • The left panel can be used more productively for small business.
The best use if there is a need to see events some particular user made. It can be useful to analyze what went wrong with users who stop using a product, or to find some pattern for users who purchased it.

Another great use is if you need to set up more tricky funnels, which requires more advanced tools than most other similar apps have.

Mostly by marketing and analytics. We use it to see results of emailing camping as well as how different landing pages perform. The most common tool we use is the funnel analysis tool as that allows us to see what users are actually doing on our site. This allows us to see what areas are problems pages as well as which pages actually lead to useful conversions.
  • Easy to understand graphs
  • Good easy API
  • Fast support team
  • The dashboard for creating funnels is a bit busy and has lots going on
Good for analysis and visually analyzing data. Being able to create different types of charts means we can analyze data in a lot of different types of ways. In terms of ease of use for new users, the dashboards and the way things are laid out make it hard to find where some things are.

We use Amplitude for both Free-trial and customer analytics. It is a super robust tool and free for up to 10million events which is more than enough for us! It is used across multiple teams, sales, customer success, product, engineering, conversion. We were unable to create funnels and visualize our data just simply using our back-end data so we needed a 3rd party tool that would let us accomplish this.
  • Visualization
  • Ease of Use
  • Non-technical UI
  • Always releasing new features
  • Wide range of functionality
  • Great design!
  • Pricing tiers other than free
  • More easily shareable charts to members of our teams who don't have logins
  • Not much else, the product is very sweet!
If you do not have an analytics tool, Amplitude is a best in class option that a sophisticated organization can use for free. They offer a large amount of support if you're looking to move to a paid plan. They release new features consistently and do a great job of educating users on those new features.
